Earth, wind and Fire

Volcán de Agua as seen from the base camp on Acatenango. 6s exposure without a tripod.
Agua in the morning next day, little after the sunrise, from a higher vantage point.
Sunrise from the top of Acatenango. Enjoy some more Agua.
Sunrise from the very top of Acatenango, the volcano to the right of the shadow cone is probably volcan de Atitlan.
Sunrise. After 2h of a night hike through sharp ashes and gravel.
Pedro cooking us some food. Pedro was an incredible local guide. It was close to 0 C in the night, Pedro slept in a very thin tent on a jacket. He didn't seem to complain.
Way down through the volcanic ashes.
Some wider way down.
Fuego farting some fire. Half year later it erupted little more seriously, killing at least 200 people in surrounding villages, leaving no time for evacuation.
Fuego in daytime, on our way down.
Climbing Acatenango, an invactive volcano next to Antigua Guatemala was something I will probably never forget. Right now I don't know what other experiences I'd have to live through that would completely wipe out those astonishing experiences and views I witnessed.
